Damien Barnes steps down as Chair of Nguluway DesignInc due to increased work and Board commitments

YIMBA would like to congratulate Josh Duke joining the Nguluway DesignInc team as Chairperson following YIMBA’s Managing Director, Damien Barnes’, resignation from the role of inaugural Chair of Nguluway DesignInc due to increased work and board commitments.

Since creation in 2020, Nguluway DesignInc has grown to an eight-strong team which includes six Indigenous team members, five of whom are architects and design professionals, who provide a full suite of architectural design services (across architecture, urban design, interiors and landscape) and has delivered over 50 projects.

Damien is very proud to have been the inaugural Chair of Nguluway DesignInc for the last four years and wishes Josh Duke, Craig Kerslake Wiradjuri Nation, Ian Armstrong and the team every success. Nguluway DesignInc is reshaping Australian architecture by infusing Indigenous culture into the built environment.

‘Thriving Indigenous businesses, like Nguluway DesignInc, are key to creating economic empowerment, strengthening cultural identity, and exercising self-determination for Indigenous Australians. They ensure we are not sidelined and participate in the economic prosperity of Australia.’
