It was great for Damien Barnes to get an up-close look at the SEC’s first investment, the Melbourne Renewable Energy Hub.

The hub is one of the world’s biggest battery projects and once operational, will deliver 1.6 gigawatt hours of energy storage, enough to power around 200,000 homes during peak evening consumption.

It was encouraging to see the immense progress that has been made since construction began late last year.
