YIMBA is pleased to announce that our Managing Director, Damien Barnes, has been appointed by the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) as an Independent Member of the Joint Steering Committee (JSC) to undertake an independent review of Aboriginal Hostels Limited.
Aboriginal Hostels Limited was established in 1973 to provide affordable accommodation across Australia for First Nations people who are travelling, relocating or need to be away from home to access education, employment or health services. The review will provide insights into Aboriginal Hostels Limited’s business model, organisational structure and funding base and inform longer-term reform.
